From the Realm of Pisces ~ 14 Jun 2024

Presently and until February 2025, Saturn and Nessus more or less travel together in Pisces on the ecliptic. Nessus, a centaur, possesses an unsavory reputation and whose mythological lore notes his proclivity for less than desirable behaviors including, but not limited to, deception and ultimately revenge. As a result of Nessus’ nefarious deeds, bad blood between involved parties typically results. Then there’s Saturn who conducted his own despicable acts of retaliation and is oft perceived as the cosmic naysayer though this reputation is not complicated to undo.

Presumably wiser from his experiences and insights absorbed, Saturn shakes his head in that “I don’t want to say I told you so” manner at Nessus and all those applying unnecessary and less than ideal efforts during transits from the centaur. Saturn follows with a wag of an extended gnarly index finger noting, “We’ll have none of that now, thank you.”

As will all celestial objects with woefully bad behavior histories, the job of those navigating transits from these objects is to understand the motives behind poor mythological choices. And thus, prevent engaging life with similar reactions regardless of instinctive reactions to conditions at hand. With planets and solar system entities possessing complicated mythologies, transits can be dreaded. However, with conscious intent to take high roads and with the conjuring of creative and constructive alternatives, life proceeds more smoothly and presumably without unmitigated mayhem. Collectively, astrological guidance evolved regarding Pluto, even Uranus and absolutely Saturn. Now, as we experience more transits, we discover applications well suited for the likes of Eris, Gonggong, Ixion, Nessus and the entire lot of objects presumably hell bent on disrupting life with poor behavior.

The thing about Saturn (and all these other objects, too) is he always can be found somewhere on the ecliptic. And, it seems, he constantly serves up things that enhance his reputation for restriction, limitation and liability. No matter where Saturn travels not much time passes before he enjoys transits from the Sun, the Moon, and the personal planets. From the sign the inner solar system bodies traverse, aspects are made to the stunning ringed one that serve the purposes of dutiful action, disciplined effort, and enduring attention. The upcoming aspect patterns permit a bit of a respite from the recent stressful aspects and the zaniness of life. Soon, Saturn in Pisces enjoys easing trines from the Sun and the two planets nearest our gravitational core in support of the ongoing transit with Nessus, as well as a sextile involving Mars.

Upcoming we have:

26 June Mercury trines Saturn (and Nessus) from Cancer.

02 July Venus trines Saturn (and Nessus) from Cancer.

05 July Mars sextiles Saturn (and Nessus) from Taurus.

10 July the Sun trines (Saturn and Nessus) from Cancer.

Summarizing the above:

The influence of Cancer holds tight to matters of assigned emotional importance and memories that matter. In actuality, letting go serves superior purposes. Move on, stay safe within ones natural zones, and create a life comfort strata that feeds the soul.

Despite the trine to Cancer, with Nessus in Pisces any perception of persecution and deception demands revenge in the initial knee-jerk reaction. With the Nessus “level the playing field” consciousness, though ones demise may result within the plan, the end justifies the mean. Nessus’ point is to do unto those that done more wrong than he feels was done unto him. The result: a lust for vengeance blinds sensibilities.

As mentioned before, the prohibiting force of Saturn correctively states: “Stand down, Nessus. We operate with impeccable Newtonian physics herein. Cause and effect is king. Seeking revenge is a projection that verifies your subjective biases and places you in dubious renown. Think before poking the bear.” With Saturn in Pisces the purpose of transits (especially those strengthened through combined effort) is the release of that which stands in ones way - a washing away rather than evolutionary erosion.

Saturn in tandem with Nessus seeks to throttle all urges for retaliation and revenge. Saturn calmly asks, “Is that so important to you, that you’ll go to the ends of the Earth to exact revenge even if your expiration is guaranteed in the process? It does take time to extract revenge and there is no rationale to justify doing so.”

Saturn in Pisces potentially induces hesitation based upon apprehension and concern of persecution. This is not a matter of others seeking to thwart ones life efforts. Saturn supports seeking a healthy attitude toward long range consequence. Given his Newtonian Physics slant on life (for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction), he supports transactional communication, “I can do this and you can do this and that all favors both of us,” to create cooperative real world efforts. Saturn stresses remaining on the straight and narrow while transacting such exchanges.

So what can one do with Saturn’s and Nessus’ current pairing?

Consider all personal exchanges in life. Approach each with clarity of the optimal end game.

Resist the urge to invoke knee-jerk responses that are not ideal. First, process the emotion behind the reaction. Is the first response aligned with the reality of the situation? If so, by sorting emotions and clarifying what is optimal, then one can determine how to reengage with the best foot forward and optimal objectives in mind.

Examine the motive any and all intended emotional communication before expressing said feeling. Is the expression needed? Will it serve to satisfy your wishes? Can you process the emotion in the privacy of your psyche’s inner workings? Keep in mind, offering conciliatory acts does not imply doormat status.

More soon.

We’re at the virtual halfway point of 2024. So how’s the year shaping up? Would it proceed more smoothly with astrological insight added to the fuel of life? If you’re looking for improved mileage consider the octivating (made-up word morph of octave and activate) octane of a consultation or series of consultation. A report noting uncommonly used centaurs (including Nessus) can certainly offer up fresh insights. And a personal question or two may be posed for answering to assist in piloting the moment.
